ROAD TO THE 2026 START
The Globe 5.80 Transat is a solo ocean race sailed in small 5.80-metre one-design yachts. The 2026 course takes the fleet from Lagos via Lanzarote to Antigua — approximately 3,600 nautical miles of self-reliance, seamanship and ocean racing.
The event opens in Lagos on 31 October 2026. The main Atlantic leg starts from Marina Rubicón, Lanzarote, on 14 November. Viivi will race alone aboard Flow, hull #195, with every decision and repair resting on the skipper.
THE PROGRAMME
Building the boat is only the first chapter. Systems, sea miles and solo qualification turn Flow from a project into an ocean racer.

3,600 nautical milesEvery system is selected for reliability, simplicity and repairability at sea. Every training mile is an opportunity to expose a weakness before the Atlantic does.
Viivi’s campaign combines elite-level preparation with the honesty of a hands-on build: the successes, setbacks and decisions are all part of the story.
